Create a Playground
Here the children used a modelling programme to create and design their own playground. The younger children used a 'sticky cursor' to place and position their chosen items into place. They then labelled their picture using either the magnetic letters or the keyboard. They enjoyed printing our their pictures on the colour printer. The children on more advanced levels used the mouse to click and drag their objects into place and could use the rotate and enlarge tool to modify them if they wished.

Splatter Painting
The children enjoyed creating a picture using their favourite colours and patterns. They then used the 'splatter' tool to distort their picture and create some interesting designs. Transport picture

Here the children used a graphics programme to create their own bus. As a group they had to choose the colour of their bus and then carefully use the mouse to add characters. It wasn't as easy as it looks - the heads and bodies were separate images which they had to carefully join together. As you can see, some of the children decided to use different patterns and fills to colour in the wheels of their bus.
Chameleons

The children had fun learning all about camouflage in this project. Given a background and an outline of a chameleon, they had to look at the colours on the screen. Using the paint tool they had to select colours from the colour palette to try and blend the chameleon into the background. In this example, Zain (who is at Whizz Kid level) chose his colours carefully and did a brilliant job at camouflaging the chameleon. Other children decided to make their chameleon 'stand out' by selecting bright colours.
Paper Textures

The children enjoyed using the computer to make different patterns and add textures to their image. Firstly they had to select a paper texture which could be the bark of a tree, shells, or even an animal. They then selected various colours to paint with using the colour palette. They enjoyed learning how to mix two colours together to make a new colour.
My Favourite Sports

As a group the children talked about their favourite sports and then used the cursor to choose different sport pictures. They stamped their images over the page and used the keyboard to type in their names.
Birthday Cakes

Firstly the children had to decide who their cake was for. Then they could choose whether they wanted their cake to made of plain sponge, chocolate or fruit. Once they had chosen the filling, they were able to decorate their cake with icing, bows and sweets. Finally they used the mouse to place candles on their cake.
Fantasy Planets

Here the children used a graphics program to create their fantasy planets. They enjoyed using the mouse to stamp clip art on their page and they then used the printer to type in their name.
Autumn Trees

As a group we talked about the season of Autumn and we looked at leaves that had fallen off the trees. We talked about the colours of the leaves and they used some of these colours to stamp trees on their picture.
My Caterpillar Picture

Here the children used a graphics programme to create their very own caterpillar. They used the drawing tools to draw the outline and then used the paint tools to colour in their butterfly.
My Butterfly picture

For our second project of the term, the children created butterflies. They had to use good mouse control to draw the outline of their butterfly, and then they added patterns using the pen tools and spray can. They enjoyed watching their pictures being printed on the colour printer.
My Spring Picture

The children enjoyed creating their Spring picture. They used the keyboard to type in their names and then clicked on the stamp tools to fill their page with Spring images.
Self Portraits

The children used a graphics programme to draw a picture of themselves using chunky felt tips. They enjoyed choosing the colour of their hair and eyes. Finally they described their picture and typed in their name.
My Favourite Colour

This term the children were able to create a picture using their favourite colours. They were able to use different tools such as the paintbrush, pen, chalk and crayon. Some of the children used the mouse to draw circles, ovals and rectangles and then used different fill patterns to colour in these shapes. They used the keyboard to type in their name on their picture.
Number Frieze

Here the children used our graphics programme to produce a Spring Number frieze. As a group they chose a number of stamps associated with Spring. They then had to carefully stamp the required number in the boxes. They counted each of the stamps to make sure they had the right amount, using the 'undo' button to erase any mistakes.
